New Testament Survey 103 Course Syllabus Purpose: This course is designed to help you develop the following: A passion for people through vital relationships with self and God by: 1) Integrating a Christ-centered personal identity into life and ministry. 2) Understanding that Christianity is lived out in community. (C&C 1.5)
Competency in becoming a communicator of Truth for life by: 1) Preaching and teaching the whole truth of God’s Word for life change under the power of the Holy Spirit. 2) Communicating adequately in writing/oral conversations. 3) Having the necessary skills and knowledge to answer the question, “What does the Bible say about…?” 4) Speaking the truth in love in all relationships and contexts. (C&C 2.9)
Goals: By the time you complete this course you should:
1. Be able to present more effective Bible studies in the New Testament because you have a better understanding of New Testament history, geography and the background of each book. 2. Be able to explain the message of each book of the New Testament. 3. Develop an integrated understanding of the books of the New Testament, principal doctrines, chief personalities and problems of the Early Church. 4. Be able to explain the Christ-centered character of the New Testament.
Method: This course is a combination of readings and personal reflection.

Student Requirements:
1. As you finish each chapter, write a summary paragraph which explains how your study of the chapter has helped you to understand the New Testament and how it will help you in your personal life and ministry. |
