Church Ministry 101 The Priestly, Prophetic and Sacramental Ministries
Course Syllabus
Purpose: This course is designed to help you develop the following:
To become a communicator of Truth for life: 1) Preach and teach the whole truth of God’s Word for life change under the power of the Holy Spirit. 2) Communicate adequately in writing/oral conversations. 3) Have the necessary skills and knowledge to answer the question, “What does the Bible say about…?” To have a Kingdom perspective by worshipping and serving God with His people. (C&C 2.10)
Goals: By the time you complete this course you should:
1. Be able to assist in the priestly (worship and music), prophetic (preaching) and sacramental ministries (the Lord’s Supper, baptism, weddings and funerals) in your local church. 2. Be able to apply the principles of hermeneutics to personal Bible study and for the preparation of sermons and Bible studies. 3. Be able to plan a worship service built around the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
Method: This course is a combination of readings, personal reflection and special projects.

Student Requirements:
1. Prepare a two-page paper of your interpretation of Matthew 28:16-20, based on your understanding of How to Read the Bible. 2. Prepare a detailed plan for an integrated communion service, incorporating music, Scripture readings and the message built around the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. |
