Youth Commission 

We as a District Youth Commission are here to serve the local churches and their Youth Ministry Staff.  We are constantly working at finding new and better ways to serve you and to assist you in helping your students grow in their relationship with Christ.  Please feel free to contact us at any time if you need help or have ideas and suggestions for us.

Working with youth in Western Pennsylvania is a great challenge. Teenagers are growing up in very different cultures from one end of the state to the other. The unifying factor is that all of them need to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Youth Commission works to incorporate five basic passions into the lives of teens:

Win them to Christ
Build them up in Christ
Equip them for Christ
Multiply leaders to serve Christ
Send them out to minister for Christ
 

How We Plan on Investing in WPA Students:
Spiritually/Discipleship! Helping leaders take students to the next level through:

Jolt & Breakaway: Jolt (Fall) for grades 6-8 and Breakaway (Spring) for grades 9-12 are yearly district led youth retreats.  These retreats are designed to challenge students to take their relationship with Christ to the next level and then live out what they learned while at this retreat.

Global Impact: This event is for grades 6-12 and is put on each year by Urban Impact Foundation.  The goal is to motivate and expose youth to both home and global missions.

LIFE Conference: LIFE is a tri-annual conference for high school students.  LIFE is a place where students experience Christ and build community.  This unique once-in-a lifetime event help students enter into the LIFE experience with a solid foundation and to ultimately return from LIFE with a maximum personal impact.

Called To Serve: This event is also a part of Urban Impact Ministries and is for students who are feeling called to full time ministry or who desire to be an everyday Great Commission Christian in their future careers.

Encounter: The AY Encounter conference is a four-day journey into the heart of what it means to be a Christian.  The Alliance has formed a conference that will stretch the evangelical mind of its future generations.


Intentional Resourcing: In the Area of Missions!

Modeling Praying, Giving, and Going by: providing mission oriented events including Missions Trips, Global impact, Called to Serve and Encounter. 

How We Plan on Investing in WPA Youth Pastors/Leaders:

Training/Encouragement: Providing district retreats or events to create spiritual growth and momentum for leaders to work off of when they return home.  Moving student's from curiosity to commitment.

Intentional Resourcing:
